If you’re in Colorado, chances are you know the Ogden Theater and have seen plenty of shows there. Built in 1919, this historic venue has hosted some of the biggest acts in the world, from Harry Houdini to Iggy Pop, Jackson Browne, the Smashing Pumpkins, and so many more. More than 150 acts a year visit this Denver historical landmark building. Some of the biggest names in entertainment find themselves inside the Ogden Theater during some crazy Colorado weather events. The management team at the theater needed a roof that was ready to protect in any condition.
That’s where Farha Roofing came in! The team over at the Ogden gave us a call to restore this historic building’s roof. Because this is an official City of Denver landmark title, we worked closely with the City to make sure that all of the services were in line with their wants, needs, and specifications. We also had to make sure that there was minimal disruption to the concert schedule by working closely with the event coordinator. All in all not a single show was interrupted or postponed!
While working with the City of Denver, we quickly realized there was a lot to be done on the Ogden’s roof. Farha Roofing provided a proposal for the roof that included a 60 Mil Verisco Mechanically Fastened TPO with a green initiative to improve the building’s efficiency. Once we figured out all the necessary specifications with the City and the Ogden, we were ready to get to work!

Because of the history behind this great theater, we knew we needed to be extra careful with the roofing system. Our first step in the process was to install a fan fold base sheet on top of the existing roof system. Once that was in place, we continued our work, installing the mechanically fastened 60 Mil Verisco TPO. We also installed the necessary wood nailers at the gutters’ edge, new flashings around the points of penetration, and new wall flashings, all by the manufacturer’s specifications.
As we do with all of our roofing jobs over here at Farha Roofing, we made sure to maintain a clean and safe work site and keep all involved well informed. Maintaining a clean site was especially important as the Ogden regularly had shows during our reconstruction. Furthermore, we excelled during the regularly scheduled inspections by the manufacturer and city.
After some long days and nights, the project was completed successfully on every level! Farha Roofing did a final walk-through with the City of Denver and the management team at the Ogden Theater to ensure everyone was pleased. All parties were more than satisfied with the roof!
