Project Description
The project took 7 Weeks to complete. Versico Adhered 60 mil White EPDM to mechanically attached 1/2" HD SecurShield cover board over the existing Built-up Roof system. 1/2" Tapered panels were installed around the HVAC units to minimize ponding water. A 20-year Labor and Material warranty with 72 mph Wind warranty was issued upon successful completion of the Versico Technical inspection.Scope of Work
This roof belonged to a Retail Shopping Center. The issue involved an existing Built-up Roof over Perlite cover board, with a Yellow Fiberglass insulation was well past it's service life with numerous leaks and problems with the roof drains. A variance from the City of Wichita was given to allow for the new system to be installed.Challenge
A short completion time was given due to a lengthy approval process, the first hurdle to overcome at the startup. The major problems with this project were shorter working hours due to the time of year, limited crane use per the Directives from Towne East, verifying the potential for wet insulation in the existing roof system, repairing bad metal decking, bad roof drains were addressed as needed during the process and weather. Weekly Communication with the owners representative was vital to keep the project on track.
