Project Description

This roofing project unfolded over a span of nine weeks, beginning on June 13, 2023 and concluding on August 15, 2023. This project's timeframe showcased the Farha team's meticulous planning, execution, and quality control measures undertaken during the installation process. Another unique aspect of this particular project is set within the diversity of the existing decks. The Farha team was tasked with applying a new roofing system to multiple deck types, including wood, tectum, concrete, and metal.

Scope of Work

The recently installed roofing system was state-of-the-art solution; a Versico 60mil EPDM fully adhered system. This advanced roofing technology provides a robust protection and assurance of a 20-year warranty, underlining the system's durability and longevity. Navigating the intricacies of each deck material showcased the Farha team's versatility and expertise in adapting the new roofing system to diverse substrates. This level of adaptability is crucial in re-roofing projects, ensuring that the chosen roofing solution is tailored to the specific characteristics and requirements of each deck material. Wood decks required consideration for moisture resistance and fastening techniques. Tectum, being a unique fiberboard material, demanded specialized methods to ensure proper adhesion and longevity of the roofing system. The concrete decks necessitated additional waterproofing measures, while metal decks posed challenges related to corrosion resistance and compatibility with the roofing materials.

Challenge

The project's location and the timing posed a notable challenge and added a layer of complexity to the endeavor. Acquiring the necessary materials and dealing with supply chain issues took over a year for some of the procurement. This delay in material fulfillment required detailed planning to minimize disruptions to the project timeline. Despite the challenges, collaboration with the school district and CSDSIP proved to be a positive aspect of the project. This collaboration ensured that any issues or changes were promptly addressed, contributing to the overall success of the project.  A fortunate alignment of timing was the fact that the students were on summer break during the project's execution. The absence of students ensured safety during construction activities and streamlined the logistics, allowing for more flexibility in scheduling and execution. In essence, while the location and material acquisition presented challenges, as well as, the inclusion of multiple decking structures, this project showcased Farha Roofing's strategic planning and adaptability.

Testimonial

"Nick Eder was great to work with when our Montezuma Cortez Middle School and Lewis Elementary school roofs needed replaced due to hail damage. Nick was easy to work with and very knowledgeable of what needed done and followed through. When the roofs were done over the summer of 2023, Nick and Farha Roofing company were very professional on all parts of the roof replacements for both schools."
