Project Description
Upon a leak inspection of the roof systems in place at this facility we discovered hail damage. We were able to work with the clients insurance to secure funds for a roof replacement. This property consists of 5 roof sections and varying roof systems in place. With full transparency with our clients insurance company we were able to upgrade the scope of work from a roof coating to a new 60mil TPO system throughout all roof sections.Scope of Work
Roof size was 27,000+ square feet consisting of 5 sections. 3 roof sections had the existing built up roof system removed down to the structural wood deck, mechanically attached white TPO single ply membrane, all new edge metal, coping cap, gutters and collector heads replaced. 1 large roof section was a TPO retrofit over an existing standing seam roof system. By installing a retrofit system over the existing metal roof the facility was able to maintain day to day operations with no interruptions. The largest roof section was 12,000 sq ft and insurance only approved an aluminum coating.Challenge
This project is a great example of the challenges insurance carriers present when working on claims to ensure a proper scope of work is approved and paid accordingly. We spent close to a year working with our clients insurance company to finalize a scope of work that was to our clients satisfaction. An engineer was involved and our team met them on site to ensure a thorough inspection. The final determination was not to our clients satisfaction, because the largest roof section only had a coating approved rather than a full replace- ment. With full transparency with the insurance carrier we were able to upgrade the large 12,000 sq ft area to a new TPO single ply membrane. The job was completed on time, within budget and with no additional costs to our client minus their insurance deductible. The team work involved in this project was tremendous as all departments contributed in multiple facets to get this job off the ground and completed.Testimonial
