Project Description
A roof replacement was strongly needed at this medical facility due to the age and poor condition of the roof as well as the high dollar equipment within the facility. The current roof system in place was a ballasted 45mil EPDM system that was tapered over a metal deck. Due to 1 layer of roofing in place and no evidence of wet insulation, a roof overlay was selected as the most economical and ideal roof option for the facility.Scope of Work
Removed over 35,000 sq ft of large river rock from the existing roof. The EPDM was relief cut to manufacturer specification prior to the mechanical installation of a high density cover board and White 60mil TPO.Challenge
The surgery center never closed, so noise and disruption to their day-to-day operations was a major concern. To accommodate the facility and to give our out-of-town client peace of mind, extra supervision was on site at all times. We also collected daily progress updates with pictures and descriptions that were submitted on a weekly basis to our client. Job site safety was a major focus that included barriers, signage, an on site safety contact and a daily toolbox talk with the crew. The cleanliness of our material storage and staging area was a major focus from start to finish and included an in-depth clean at the end of each work day. We combined two crews to expedite the installation time and worked evenings and weekends to install our roof system when the surgery areas were closed.Testimonial
