Project Description
When starting the process of replacing its roof in Golden, CoorsTek found that its only option for replacing its roof was a complete tear off, which failed to meet CoorsTek's sustainability goals. CoorsTek turned to Farha to find a new solution for their whopping 101,962 square feet of roofing.Scope of Work
The original plan of a single ply membrane with a long-term warranty was not the best solution, Farha Roofing provided CoorsTek with a unique, cost-effective, WindSmart System. This would allow CoorsTek to reskin the roof with a new TPO membrane and include a cutting edge venting system from WindSmart.Challenge
Working with IBC codes, and after working with the local building code officials and a structural engineer, WindSmart and Farha Roofing were able to gain approval for a 3rd roof, recover, with ease. Now, with the help of WindSmart's enhanced wind uplift details applied, CoorsTek's roof is able to meet Golden's wind speed requirement of 150 MPH.
