Project Description

This project involved the full removal and replacement of multi-family roofing systems impacted by recent storm damage at Capitol Pointe Apartments. Farha Roofing partnered with GAF, delivering a durable and visually cohesive upgrade for the entire property. In addition to the roof replacement, our team completed gutter, downspout, and siding repairs across the property. The project required several months of preparation followed by a concentrated three-week execution period.

Scope of Work

Our crew began by removing all of the existing asphalt shingles across six buildings, preparing each structure for the installation of new GAF Natural Shadow shingles. Once the roofs were stripped and inspected, we completed the full shingle replacement. Beyond the roofing work, we replaced every gutter system with new 6" K-Style gutters paired with 3x4" downspouts to improve drainage. This project also included approximately 80 squares of siding repairs, completed after securing matching materials appropriate for the age of the buildings. We coordinated multiple trades on a tight timeline, ensuring each phase was completed as scheduled to keep the overall project on track. From initial planning to final walkthrough, the project spanned roughly three months, with all on-site labor finished in just three weeks.

Challenge

This project presented several notable challenges. First, the site was located about two hours from our home office, requiring additional travel coordination. Second, the involvement of multiple trades, including roofing, gutters, and siding, demanded detailed scheduling to guarantee that each part of the project was completed in the correct sequence. Extreme heat during the installation week added further complexity and required additional safety considerations for our team. Sourcing matching siding materials for older buildings also proved difficult, but our team worked hard to locate products that met the property's aesthetic and structural needs. Because the project stemmed from storm-related damage, close communication with both the client and their insurance carrier was critical to ensure clarity on covered and non-covered items. Despite these challenges, the project was completed efficiently and to the client's satisfaction.
